2435 Clinic is a clinic available for providing primary medical care and health education free of charge for those without adequate means. Services & conditions treated include diabetes, heart conditions, high blood pressure, school physicals (patient must provide school physical forms), well care, pediatrics, colds & allergies.  No residency requirements, no appointment necessary, 1st come-1st served basis. Metrocrest Community Clinic is a 501(c)(3) charitable medical clinic providing low-cost medical care for the uninsured or underinsured members of the community, ages 16 - 65. The clinic has been in operation since 1992. The clinic is staffed by a full-time Medical Doctor specializing in internal medicine.  An experienced Registered Nurse serves as the Clinic Director.  To better serve the diverse needs of patients, a multilingual Office Manager coordinates patient care.  Volunteer physicians, many of whom have several years of dedicated service to the Metrocrest Community Clinic, registered nurses and other medical professionals help staff specialty clinics. The clinic is now open five days a week, Monday-Friday: 8:30 AM - 5:30 PM and evening and specialty clinics. Patients are seen by appointment only. Christian Community Action (CCA) provides quality, affordable primary medical, and dental healthcare to adults that are uninsured and underinsured. PediPlace provides high-quality healthcare for children in our community who have no access to such services due to economic, geographic, and/or cultural barriers.  PediPlace is a neighborhood pediatric office located in Lewisville, Texas, and services uninsured children and those who receive Medicaid or CHIP benefits. Their not-for-profit pediatric clinic provides a broad scope of health services with a highly competent and bilingual staff of medical professionals, trained office staff, and many dedicated volunteers.  All services are provided by appointment at a single clinic site in Lewisville located at 502 S. Old Orchard Lane, Suite 126. This provides easy access to quality care for families living in Lewisville, Coppell, Carrollton, Flower Mound, The Colony, Denton, and other surrounding communities in North Texas. Immunization Clinics/Dallas County Health & Human Services are available to all children 0-18 years of age that qualify for the Texas Vaccines for Children (TVFC)  Program. Call the Immunization Hotline at 1-800-252-9152 for any questions you may have regarding immunizations or how to register for the TFVC Program or go to www.dshs.state.tx.us/immunize/default.shtm

TVFC Program eligible students should receive their vaccines for free and include the following:

• uninsured or underinsured children,
• children who are covered by CHIP,
• children who are of Native American or Native Alaskan heritage, and
• children on Medicaid

Lion’s Club Vision Program will assist any child in need and referred by their school nurse with a FREE vision exam and pair of glasses.  Lion’s Club will bring a clinic van to the area each fall.  For more information on this program, please contact your school nurse. 

Texas Lions Camp is a summer camping facility dedicated to serving children from the State of Texas with physical disabilities and Type 1 diabetes.  The camp is located on over 500 acres of hills and woodlands in the beautiful Texas Hill country.  Programs at Texas Lions Camp offer campers a chance to try new activities and create long-lasting friendships while developing greater self-esteem and independence.  Children eligible to participate in the summer camp program must be between the ages of seven and sixteen and have a qualifying physical disability.   Children with Type 1 diabetes must be between the ages of eight and fifteen.  See www.lionscamp.com to apply or for additional information.

Texas Elks Camp is a FREE, therapeutic and recreational one week camp that offers fun-filled experiences in swimming, horseback riding, hiking, arts and crafts, cookouts, campfires, and a variety of sports for special needs children.  Camp is usually filled by mid-April.  For eligibility conditions/more information or to apply, call (830) 875-2425 or visit http://texaselkscamp.org. 

Christian Community Action assists the financially disadvantaged by providing a program that is comprehensive in services.  Programs offered include spiritual care; case management services; financial assistance (rent/mortgage, utilities, transportation, clothing, prescriptions, etc); food pantry; housing; training, career placement  services and job search support group; pharmaceutical access program providing assistance in obtaining free prescriptions; special programs: summer lunches, back to school, holiday meal, Christmas toy and senior Christmas gift programs.  Call 972-221-1224 for more information/eligibility requirements or visit www.ccahelps.org.  After-hour crisis line: 972-436-4357.

The Metrocrest Social Services' mission is to provide emergency assistance and comprehensive programs to move families toward self-sufficiency; serving residents of Carrollton, Farmers Branch, Addison, Coppell and ZIP Code 75287 in Denton County. Coppell Cares helps families and individuals in our community who have needs driven by financial challenges. They work through Coppell schools and area social service agencies to uncover needs and resources. They are a mission of the First United Methodist Church of Coppell. Operation School Bell is a nationwide philanthropic program of Assistance League. The purpose of this program is to provide school clothes to children in need. If you are interested in learning more about Operation School Bell, please contact your student's school nurse or counselor. 

Make a Child Smile program is sponsored by the City of Coppell solely for children that reside in Coppell.  With the assistance of Coppell businesses and citizens, this program has been able to provide children with at least two gifts of toys and/or clothing.  City employees donate their time to separate the gifts, bag them up and deliver them to the families about a week before Christmas.  The children provided gifts by Make a Child Smile are usually the children involved in the school lunch program.  Some families, however, may have temporary circumstances that would mean they need a little extra help during the holiday season.   If you have children who qualify for this program, please notify your school nurse or counselor by October 1st.

Several community organizations are available to schools for their families in need of a little assistance during the holiday season.  These organizations include Lions Club Christmas and St. Ann’s Thanksgiving.  If you qualify and want your family included in any of these programs, please contact your school nurse or counselor in the fall.
