Eliminating Friday “C” Days Starting Jan. 6, 2020

  • Dear Coppell ISD High School Students and Families,

After reviewing our current "C" days on Fridays schedule and receiving feedback from our students, teachers and families, we will be reverting back to an alternating "A" and "B" schedule starting in the Spring 2020 semester. This means that when students and teachers return from the Winter Break Holiday on January 6, 2020, all of our high schools —  Coppell High School, New Tech High @ Coppell and CHS9 — will be on the alternating day “A” and “B” schedule. Please see the attached schedules for CHS, New Tech High @ Coppell and CHS9.

New Tech High @ Coppell will continue to have flex days and will send information separately to their families about those days for the Spring semester.

Passing periods also will revert to the original times they were at the beginning of the semester.   By reverting back to our original schedule, we also hope to minimize the transportation delays experienced by our students who travel between campuses for classes.

The intention of “C” day Fridays as a day to focus on social and emotional learning, as well as on our relationships with learners, remains.  We also plan to continue this emphasis, as well as have Fridays continue to focus on student intervention.

Please be sure to check your school’s website and the CISD app for which days are “A” and “B” days, as we begin the Spring Semester.  As always, we thank you for your support as we work together to educate our children.

    Sincerely,

Steffany Batik, Principal of New Tech High @ Coppell
    Cody Koontz, Principal of CHS9
Laura Springer, Principal of Coppell High School
