  • CISD seeks public comments ahead of ESSA Consolidated Federal Grant Application

    Coppell Independent School District is preparing to submit the 2023-2024 ESSA Consolidated Federal Grant Application—the nation’s education law and commitment to equal opportunity for all students- by June 30, 2023.

    The Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) Section 8306(a)(7) and the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) Program-Specific Provisions and Assurances require CISD to receive public comment before the application is submitted to the Texas Education Agency.

    Coppell ISD’s ESSA Consolidated Federal Grant Application includes the following grants:

    • Title I, Part A- provides supplemental resources to help schools with high concentrations of students from low-income families acquire the knowledge and skills in the state content standards and to meet the state student performance standards.
    • Title II, Part A- provides support aimed at increasing student achievement through improving teacher and principal quality and increasing the number of highly qualified teachers in classrooms and highly qualified principals in schools.

    The public comment period is from May 16, 2023, to June 7, 2023, and comments should be sent to Robyn Webb, Director of Federal and State Programs via email.


  • Public Notice for Private- Nonprofit Schools- Coppell ISD

    In accordance with the requirements of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965 (ESEA), as amended by the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA), the Coppell Independent School District is providing notice to Private Non-Profit Schools that the district will apply for 2023-2024 ESSA Consolidated Federal Grant funds. The grant application will include the following programs: (a) Title I, Part A - Improving Basic Programs, (b) Title II, Part A - Supporting Effective Instruction, and (c) Title IV, Part A - Student Support and Academic Enrichment. Private Non-Profit Schools identified as a 501(c)(3) organization by the Internal Revenue Service and who possess a tax-exempt number are eligible to participate in these ESSA programs.

    Private Non-Profit School Officials who wish to learn more about the equitable services available under the ESSA programs for eligible private school children, teachers, other educational personnel, and families and to make program participation decisions for 2023-2024, should contact: Robyn Webb, Director of Federal and State Programs, via email. Contact must be made on or before May 31, 2023.
