    Dear CISD Families,

Coppell ISD is a diverse community with many cultures amongst our students, staff and families. I believe this diversity is what makes our district so unique and special. Each year, our schools have cultural activities, celebrations and special events to learn more about the different customs of the families in our community. I have enjoyed attending these events at our campuses, as well as joining our community in cultural traditions at their places of worship.

This week, some of our campuses celebrated Día de los Muertos, a Mexican Holiday. It was engaging to see how our students shared how their families commemorate this day, which follows Halloween.

Many families in CISD also celebrate Diwali. As we recognized Ramadan in the spring, a district committee of teachers and staff have come together to plan virtual activities and information to recognize the importance of this day, as well as allow our community to learn more about their neighbors who celebrate it. I encourage you to join us in participating.

With Thanksgiving, Christmas, Hanukkah and more just around the corner, there will be many opportunities for our families to celebrate together. I encourage you to continue to practice social distancing and all of the other safety guidelines from the CDC. We have seen a recent spike in our reported COVID cases and anticipate an additional rise with so many holidays during the next few months.

I hope you enjoy the weekend.

    Sincerely,

    Dr. Brad Hunt

    October Sub of the Month
Ron Flores has been subbing in CISD since 2013. He jumped right in when we went virtual back in March and has been subbing long term, virtual and face to face, ever since. He willingness to help out during this school year has not gone unnoticed. When speaking to him it is clear his main focus is the students and staff of CISD. He has been a regular at CHS and CHS9 ,and his willingness to help out is very much appreciated. Congratulations for being the October Substitute of the month, Mr. Flores, and thank you for all you do for kids.
