Welcome to the Global Connections parent resource page. Our mission is to help families better understand the district's goal in guiding and teaching students to become globally competent citizens. As the district expands the global connections program, content on this page will update so your family can grow in your connections at home. Look at some of the programs we currently have set up in the district here. 

Global competence refers to the acquisition of knowledge and understanding of international issues, with an appreciation of and ability to learn and work with people from diverse cultural backgrounds.

There are many ways parents can help CISD grow our global network. Schools are always looking for volunteers to speak about their cultures or how their company incorporates global connections in everyday business. If you or your company would like to get involved in helping expand our network, please fill out this form so we can get in touch with you about these opportunities.

Coppell ISD has partnered with x2VOL from its inception hosting its first campus. We are excited to begin utilizing the service district wide during the 2017-2018 school year.

 Start conversations about what is going on in the community and how your student might want to get involved.
 After your student volunteers for an event, remind them to submit the hours on x2VOL (service tracking platform in K-12 education).
 Prompt reflection. When a student submits an entry, he or she needs to write a reflection about the service experience. Make sure your student is mindful of his or her responses.
 Be aware of your student's service goal and progress.
