Mrs. Chantel Kastrounis

Chantel Kastrounis, is currently serving her ninth year as the Principal of Richard J. Lee Elementary.  She was named Principal for Coppell’s newest elementary school in 2014.  Chantel has 27 years of experience in public education including twenty-four years as a teacher and administrator in Coppell ISD.

Mrs. Kastrounis completed her undergraduate studies in elementary education at Florida Atlantic University and received her Master’s Degree in Education Administration from Lamar University. Her teaching experience is varied having taught at the kindergarten, third, fourth, and fifth grade levels, and her administrative expertise included being an Assistant Principal at Cottonwood Creek Elementary. 

As the Principal of Richard J. Lee Elementary, Mrs. Kastrounis’ many strengths include her strong instructional background and her ability to form and maintain solid relationships with students, parents, and staff. She believes the most important reason anyone should be in education is for their love of children. Her leadership in the area of instructional technology also serves her well. Kastrounis capitalizes on Lee’s technology infused learning environment that empowers learners to customize their learning, build connections, and become savvy consumers and producers of content.

Some of Mrs. Kastrounis’ top responsibilities in establishing a positive learning environment for Lee include communicating the vision of the school, building a positive school culture, and establishing a strong instructional team of Designers. Kastrounis understands the importance of establishing positive relationships and said, “Our common interest, a love of children, will be the glue that will holds our school famiLEE together.”

In her free time, Chantel enjoys shopping and going to movies with her husband of over twenty years, Michael. She adores her three dogs, and some of her “favorites” include flowers, Skittles, and pedicures.
