We are sending out our annual Title I Compact, which is a collaborative written document that explains Middle School East with parents, students, and teachers all working together for the success of all children. Thank you for being a partner with us and helping your child to reach his or her fullest potential in becoming a lifelong learner. The compact will be discussed during your Fall PTO meeting and several brown bag lunch events; however, for now, if you would please read and review with your child the pledge that designates the roles we each serve.

Communication About Student Learning

Middle School East is committed to frequent two-way communication with families about their child's learning.

Some of the ways you can expect to receive information would include, but are not limited to:

• Parent-Teacher Communication/Conferences: Conferences are typically before or after school. Parents and teachers may also meet during a teacher's conference period.

Parent Pledge: As a parent, we are depending on you to:

• Have your child at school each day on time, ready to learn, no later than 8:00am and before the Tardy Bell at 8:10am.
• Give your child support and a quiet place to complete homework and helping ensure homework is completed
• Encourage your child to read or read to your child 15-20 minutes each day without distractions (TV, computer, electronic games, .)
• Participate in decisions about your child's education by attending parent-teacher conferences
• Be engaged in your child's education by participating in school functions, PTO and campus committees, volunteering, ..
• Spend time each day with your child talking about school activities and what was learned
• Set expectations for self-discipline, responsibility, and respect for all staff and students at school
• Attend parent information sessions and curriculum and Open House nights to learn strategies to use at home

Student Pledge: As a student, we are confident you will be committed to learning and putting fotih your best effort in all areas of school by:

• Arriving at school on time and being prepared to learn
• Completing all school work and homework and turning assignments in on time
• Reading everyday outside of school for at least 15-20 minutes
• Making good choices and taking responsibility for your actions
• Showing your Bronco Pride in all that you do by living the Bronco 10
• Giving maximum effort to your education at all times

The compact letter is reviewed and revised annually by parents, students, and staff. Parents are welcome to provide feedback at any time. All feedback will be collected and reviewed during the annual revision meeting.

We hope you will join us this year to provide the very best education for your son or daughter. Evidence shows that when you are involved and engaged in the education of your child and give him/her the support necessaty to make good decisions about progress made at school, he/she will be more successful, perform better, and go on to higher education.
